WALKING THE MYSTICAL PATH

After many years struggling with poor health, I became fully disabled, so I thanked God for my chronic pain and poor functioning that allowed me to retire to a desert location on the edge of town to live as an urban hermit. In my youth, prior to my conversion to Catholicism, I had been a nun in a Hindu-based convent, so life as a contemplative solitary was both natural and well-informed by experience.

MY SAINTED AND BLESSED ANCESTORS: My genealogy expertise led me to the knowledge that I am descended from many favorite saints who I am convinced have been praying for me from their vantage place in Heaven!. Many of my posts incorporate what I have been learning about these sainted and blessed ancestors.. I have, on occasion, created family trees for interested persons. I have become a genealogy expert, after 50 years of research on my own ancestry!

ORA ET LABORA Traditional monastic life reflects itself in a life of "prayer and work," and my life is composed in a similar manner, except that my disabilities prevent a strict interpretation, so I follow the example of Brother Lawrence and pray without ceasing in whatever occupation I find myself in every moment of the day, whether struggling to prepare meals in the kitchen or caring for my service dog.

ROSARIES, WORKS OF ART, AND WRITING I have been graced by God with a number of talents that I use to create works of art and rosaries which I will sell, on occasion.

DONATIONS I fund my hermitage from the Social Security Retirement monies I paid into the system when I was working but I will gratefully accept donations of food and hermitage supplies from my Amazon wish list.
